Ok.. I apologise for going absconding for months... But we are back with something new to offer you.

As you are all aware that Culture Aangan takes time out to search, research and come out with either new homestays or a new activity or maybe a new destination. With Culture Aangan gaining its popularity ( all thanks to our awesome readers) the destination for development have all lined up. But don't want to take away the best part.. all this comes at a stand still when it comes to convincing the villagers and the money aspect, the govt policy and many more.

However looking at the growth of our existing destination - Sindhudurg, we are so proud the announce that we have 2 of our homestays operational for all of you. You can enjoy this lovely property with your family, friends or just all by yourself.

Our new homestay is located at Vengurla... A complete holiday stay in the midst of the jungle (ofcourse it is safe) The enter this homestay, one must cross a river. Not a scary one but one which you would like to dip your feet. And those who don't want to, have the fun of crossing a bridge. There are 4 cottages, attached bathrooms and toilets.. very clean and hygienic.

A delight just those who are just looking for some quiet and peace. This location is the best during monsoons and winters.

The beach isn't that far... and if you feel adventurous, you take hop on to a bicycle and go wherever you wish.

Village Holidays India

The most interesting thing that attracts alot of our attention is the Village Holidays... If developed correctly we might have a lot of advantages. Yes we do recognize that India has potential, the government must do something about it etc etc... But why can't we take the initiative. This was the thought that came into the mind who conceptualized Culture Aangan.

Thank God there are many more who do recognize this and offer it to the tourist. Maybe done differently but whole purpose of it lies in benefiting the villagers.

Fortunately India is the only country in the world that has different seasons and every season shows the a different shade of the lifestyle in our country. With the beginning of the rains, we know that we can expect more freshness in the nature, that amazing smell of wet mud, all green around us, getting wet in the rain once in a while, making paper boats, sipping that hot cup of tea with some hot Indian snacks... What more can you ask for?

The only time we think about heading to the villages, is when we have our summer vacations or a celebration like marriage or a festival. With the cities being saturated with village dwellers, it is very different to come back to those experiences once again....

What saddens us the most, is our children and the future generation might not experience what we did... Like getting pampered by our grand parents, the best delicious home cooked food, cooking our favorite sweets, walking down the market with our grandfather are just a few experiences.

Monsoons in Sindhudurg

We at Culture Aangan are always working on new concept that we can promote to people rather then selling the same boring packages. On terms of innovation the ideas we thought of the Farm Home Stay where we work with the local villagers in developing their Houses. Every component that we offer to you, we always look for the benefit of the villagers. This to only stop migration into the cities and this can only be done through tourism.

Another aspect which is very importantly followed in Culture Aangan is about Sustainable Tourism. Every individual who comes to visit Sindhudurg and now to Rajasthan is educated about how to maintain the authenticity of this region. Most of the India Package Tours do not or shall I say forget to educate the minds of Indians about cleanliness and hygenic factors. Yes that is because they have too many tourist visiting these destinations that something as small and important as that is erased from their minds.

Culture Aangan selecting a destination from Konkan India - that is Sindhudurg is yet not been disturbed by city dwellers. It still host the best beaches I have ever seen. Now with the monsoon hitting this destination I can only image how beautiful this destination will look.

The first thing that pops into every Indian's mind whenever he hears the word "Summer" is Mangoes!!! and proud to say we come from the district of Mangoes, and not any mangoes......but Alphonso Mangoes!!!

Remember the times when we used to sit at our home and eat as many mangoes as we wanted, have competition with our siblings over who eats more, spending the entire summer preparing everything possible out of mangoes!!! 

Well, we give you all of it and much more...... With us you get to go in the Mango orchards, pluck the mangoes with your own hands, eat as many as you want, gather other seasonal fruits and berries while listening to the sweet sound of cuckoo, and eat these delicious fruits while slurping the juices from your hands. 

There's nothing you can't do as a "Grown-up Child"... Play Hide & Seek in the orchard, go on a walk in the jungle, race with the wind, go crazy on the secluded beaches, eat a hearty meal prepared only for you with love & care, sleep like a child, without any worries and nobody to sit on your head.......... Its fascinating when I happen to see what kind of effort the team of Culture Aangan is making just to bring out new shades of Indian Culture and Heritage. Something that already exist but is unknown to man because he is busy in his daily life either trying run a family or to live up the lifestyle of luxury.

We all leave our hometown to come into an industrialized world and gradually the image of our village fades away in time. Most of us have even forgotten our mother tongue because we have follow only one language. The language of work. With Sindhudurg becoming a success and an effort which make every villager realise right now what we do for them has only encouraged us and motivated us to bring out more villages.

Today the Team of Culture Aangan is proud to announce that we have launch our New Destination called Pali. A district located between Jodhpur, Udaipur and Mount Abu. A beautiful, different shade of a village society. One here can enjoy a whole different activity which already existed or was either dying out. A region where modernization has yet not corrupted this area and left it with pure air and simplicity.

The background color of this region highlights every man or woman working on earth with their colourful turbans or color attires.

The phad painters who live in their meager earning. Where they have no recognition of their own and doesn't realize what is the worth of their paintings. The interesting thing about this art is once the painters has painted the story which is done on a scroll and also I must say it is a team effort which comprises of his family. The scroll is held by the member of the family. The wife hold and oil lite lamp and the back of the painting and the the painter narrates the story. An activity done after sunset and truly a beautiful one. 

The presence of the Persian wheel which is hardly seen in any other state and never in the cities, used for irrigation which was used in ancient India.

DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrival in Sawantwadi

Upon arrival at your home-stay in Sawantwadi, you will be warmly welcomed by your Indian host family with a traditional garland and tikka. Your hosts will then assist you with the registration procedure and show you to your room. Upon settling in you will be taken around the home-stay property and given the opportunity to meet and mingle with your host family. After getting to know one another you, proceed to the local Sawantwadi Palace, museum and the market where you will visit the Chitari galli or the Artists lane. Return back to the homestay for a delicious lunch together. After lunch, start with you head, neck and foot. A 20 min massage per each person, available to all simultaneously. An option for Oil and dry massage can be offered. A time for evening Tea/ Coffee break. After the break, we introduce you to Dr. Meghna Dikshit who is an expert in Ayurvedic and Hypno Therapist. Here she will introduce the concept of Group Constellations/ Cosmic Group healing Program Universal cosmic energy brings life to our physical, mental and spiritual existence. Through the sharing of this universal energy  in a group via role-playing we get answers to  our questions, whether it is relationship issues or work related stress or internal dilemmas, the Cosmos is there to heal you all together.. In the evening you will enjoy another home cooked dinner along with barbaque and of course a truly relaxing nights’ sleep.

DAY 2: Group Past Life Regression:

Early morning, an option to go sagareshwar beach early morning to see the sunrise. Packed Breakfast will be provided here.  Return back to the homestay where you will freshen up. Our next session will be the Group Past Life Regression Past life regression is a technique that employs conscious meditative hypnosis to recover memories of previous lives. Past life regression is used to address fears, phobias and even physical ailments in our present day lives by finding their root cause, believed to stem from earlier births.. (A group therapy of about 2 hrs approx./ depending on the size of the group.)Afternoon, lunch will be served in our homestay. Post Lunch an individual Angel Tarot Card reading. (Only 2 questions per person) Angel Cards, are a divination tool that allow the reader to receive messages from the angels. The angels guide and support you to make the best choices.. After Tea/Coffee, proceed to the railway station board the train to Mumbai.
